Would you expect your wheatgrass shot purchased in a juice bar, to contain only powder mixed with water? While visiting a juice bar, which is part of large chain, I asked if I could see the Wheatgrass they used to make their fresh Wheatgrass shots. Their response was SHOCKING!!!! They use POWDER and MIX IT with WATER for their shots! By sheer nature of walking into a juice bar you would think you were actually buying juice!!!! It would be like Starbucks using INSTANT COFFEE and MIXING IT with WATER when you order your latte! Please ASK WHAT IS IN YOUR SHOT BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!! Real refrigerated juice will separate like in the picture above.
Since writing this story, I called another juice bar and asked if they sold wheatgrass. They answered yes. When asked if they juiced it fresh, they said it was “part of their cold pressed juices.” So I proceeded to ask what brand of fresh wheatgrass they used. The person on the phone then said, “well we actually use a powder and water”. When I said that is not cold pressed, he said it is just part of their Collection of fresh pressed juices. I feel that this is truly false advertising. Buying from a juice bar should ensure you are getting a pressed juice made from fresh produce.
